Which Roborock fits your pet home? Find yours in 10 seconds
Two cats, one shedding corgi, one loft I film in four nights a week. Here’s the robot I’d pick for each kind of home.

The livestream that made me buy a robot vacuum

One black slip dress, a busy chat, and a lot of corgi hair

It was a Tuesday stream, and I was showing a black silk slip dress I’d been excited about for weeks. I did the slow turn, the close-up on the fabric, the whole thing.

Then the chat started. “Is that dog hair on the hem?” “Emma, look behind you lol.” Behind me, in the corner of my loft, a pale blond cloud of Bubu’s fur was drifting across the floor like a tumbleweed in an old western.

I laughed it off on camera. Off camera, I counted: I was vacuuming four or five times a week and it still wasn’t enough. Bubu sheds year-round, Mochi kicks litter halfway across the bathroom, and Bao, who is basically a cream-colored cloud with legs, adds his own layer on every rug.

The scene of the crime. Bubu, not sorry.

What I tried first (and returned)

My first robot was a cheap no-name one I grabbed during a sale. Within a week I was sitting on the floor with scissors, cutting corgi hair off the brush roll every few days. The mop pad smelled sour by day two, because nobody, including me, was washing it. And it ate a phone charger in the middle of a cleaning run.

That’s when I worked out what a pet home actually needs: brushes that don’t turn into a hair nest, a mop that gets cleaned without me, and a robot that sees what’s on the floor.

One month with the Qrevo S Pro

I ended up with the Roborock Qrevo S Pro. A few moments that sold me:

The hair check. Two weeks in, I flipped it over expecting the usual mess. A few strands, and they came off with my fingers. No scissors. The main brush is all rubber and the side brush is a zero-tangle design, which is exactly what a corgi house needs.

Rainy dog park mornings. Bubu comes home with paws like he’s been finger painting. The two spinning mops take care of paw prints and everyday footprints, and they adjust the water flow as they go.

No more sour mop. After every run, the dock washes the mops at 167°F and dries them with warm air. My loft no longer smells like a gym towel. It also empties the dust into a sealed bag that lasts 7–9 weeks.

Mochi’s litter, handled. With 18,500 Pa of suction, the scattered litter by the bathroom door is gone before I notice it.

Under the sofa, finally. It’s only 3.8 inches tall, so it gets under my sofa, where months of fur had been hiding. On my vintage rug, it lifts the mops 10 mm and turns up the suction instead of getting the rug wet.

Bao still hides in an Amazon box every time it starts. Mochi has decided the dock is her new throne. Bubu follows it from room to room and barks at it like it owes him money. In this house, he’s the drama, not the robot.

What I don’t love

It only connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, so I had to turn on dual-band in my router settings, which took ten slightly annoying minutes. The dock is tall, so measure your corner first if you live in a small place. And at full price it’s not an impulse buy. Check both colors, since the price isn’t always the same, and keep an eye on it before Black Friday.

My pick for pet homes

Roborock Qrevo S Pro

Bubu approved

Keep it if: you live with shedders and want the dock to wash and dry the mops for you.

Skip it if: you can live with rinsing a mop pad yourself. The Q10 S5+ is the better value.

The two questions my livestream chat asks most

Ever since that stream, someone asks about the robot almost every week. Mine isn’t right for every budget, so here’s what I tell them.

Roborock Q10 S5+ robot vacuum with self-emptying dock

Asked by a nurse who works twelve-hour shifts

“My floor is covered in chargers and toys. And I never want to empty a bin.”

Go with the Q10 S5+. It looks a lot like the Q7 M5+, but it’s the one with obstacle avoidance: structured light helps it steer around cords and small things on the floor. Its dock holds a 2.7 L bag that lasts up to 70 days. The sonic mop scrubs up to 3,000 times a minute and lifts 8 mm on carpet.

Roborock Q7 M5+ robot vacuum with self-emptying dock

Asked by a grad student with a husky

“I want self-emptying, but my budget is tight.”

The Q7 M5+ is a more affordable way to get a self-emptying Roborock. The bag lasts 7–9 weeks, the comb-style main brush is built to resist long pet hair, and laser mapping lets you set no-go zones around food bowls and the litter box. If your floor is usually cluttered, though, spend a little more on the Q10 S5+.

Quick answers

Do they work with 5 GHz Wi-Fi?

All three connect to 2.4 GHz only. Most routers broadcast both bands, so it’s usually a settings switch, not a new router.

Will they get my rugs wet?

The Qrevo S Pro lifts its mops 10 mm on carpet and the Q10 S5+ lifts 8 mm. On the Q7 M5+, take the mop pad off before cleaning rooms with rugs.

If you have pets and you’re stuck choosing, get the one I use. My floors have been livestream-ready ever since.
