Okay, so I tried on five dresses for spring events so you don’t have to order and return a bunch yourself.
Here’s what I said on stream — and here’s the written version. I focused on real-life wear for things like garden parties, baby showers, and casual dinners. All prices under $150.

The Five Dresses I Tested
1. Floral Midi Dress – Reformation
Soft pink and green flowers on a cream background. The fabric is lightweight but not slippery. It has a relaxed fit with a tie waist. Nice for daytime events, but the skirt wrinkled easily when I sat down.
2. Black Slip Dress – Everlane
Simple satin-like finish with thin straps. I layered it with a white tee underneath for more coverage. It feels cool and comfortable in LA heat. Great base layer but a bit plain on its own for bigger events.
3. Striped Shirt Dress – Madewell
Blue and white vertical stripes with buttons down the front. Comes with a matching belt. The length hits right below the knee. Feels more casual and works well if I want to wear sneakers instead of heels.
4. Linen Blend Midi – Mango
Sage green color with short puff sleeves. The linen feels breathable and has a nice texture. Pockets are a big plus. It’s easy to dress up with jewelry or keep simple for daytime.
5. Smocked Floral Mini – Target
Bright yellow with small white flowers. Smocked top gives some stretch. Super fun color and the shortest of the bunch. Good for casual brunches but might feel too short for formal weddings.

Which One Won?
The sage green linen midi from Mango won for me. It struck the best balance between comfortable, flattering, and versatile. I can wear it to a daytime wedding with sandals or throw on a denim jacket for dinner. The color looks fresh in real life and the fabric doesn’t wrinkle as badly as pure linen.
The Reformation floral was pretty but needed too much ironing. The Target mini was cute and cheap but felt more like weekend wear than event-ready.
Keep the sage green linen midi from Mango. It’s the clear winner for spring events this year — practical, comfortable, and easy to wear. Which dress style do you usually go for at spring events? Let me know below!
